Hello Overwatch 2 Players!

We hope you are all enjoying your time in the game and are ready for some thrilling news. We have got a fantastic lineup of events and opportunities designed to help you improve, compete, and have fun. Here is what is coming up in our Overwatch 2 community.

Monthly E-Sports Events

With our high Elo and Low Elo events we like how that has been going. We had at least 1 full event happen this past month on the esports side, and we believe that with just a bit more advertisement of our events we will be able to get more teams to come out more consistently. We also have noticed the heavy EU player base that has joined us, and I appreciate all of you for finding us and playing with us, there were some issues regarding servers for matches and connection problems based on what server the match is being hosted on. For this we came up with a temporary solution of rotating the server the match is hosted on as follows:

Example Implementation:

Server Rotation Schedule:

  • Match 1: NA Server (e.g., US East)

  • Match 2: EU Server (e.g., Germany)

  • Match 3: Lowest Ping Neutral Server (e.g., UK)

We hope that this is a good way to start addressing the problem and making the experience for everyone just a little bit better. Lastly we will continue to host our low Elo events in the first week of the month and our high Elo in the last week of the month while looking every week for more willing players to join us in our growth towards a better E-Sports experience for everyone.

Monthly Casual Events

With our casual events we have seen these are our most popular events and thank you all for showing up to them. 2v2 will be staying in the rotation indefinitely on the second week of the month while we will be experimenting with other fun events such as CTF, 4v4 Deathmatches, FFA and much more. We want to continue to have events that are not so much competitive but more relaxing to play while having an option to win some prizing for your time playing. We plan to still gather more players who play and interact with each other and want to grow and be a nice community where it builds off of fun and respect for each other.

Quarterly Leagues

We want to implement our own league and test the waters on both the rules and functions of how we want to make this a normal event in our community. These leagues will be weeks long (8-10 Weeks) and require players to keep an updated roster with coaches also. We want this experience to be the pinacol of talent in our community giving all players chances to win our biggest prizes while also introducing a new way to enjoy OW2. We do plan to have a buy in fee for teams that want to participate, and we do not plan for it to be a lot currently, we want to provide valuable prizing and incentives for each team and allow players to really test out their teamwork and strategies on a more consistent basis. We will have more details as we find more teams to join us and as we create the ruleset and procedures.

Change In Dates

Through our community congressional polls, we have decided to move our weekly events to Friday to better accommodate players who might not have time to play on a Tuesday at the time we had it before. We plan to have these events at 6:30 Pm EST and we do hope this brings more consistency with teams and friends and also brings more people into our community.

Summary

We are working hard to try and keep providing value to each and every one and I hope that we are achieving it for you and giving you just something different to do when the ranked or casual ladder gets just a bit boring. Teamwork and friendship are what we want, and we hope you all find and work on this together. Thank you all for reading and I will see you all in the next blog post.
