What is a league?

A league is a structured competition in which teams or individual players compete against each other over a series of matches or games, typically spread out over a season or a set period of time. Unlike single-elimination tournaments, where a player or team is eliminated after a loss, leagues often involve multiple rounds or matches, and standings are determined by points or win-loss records.

Key Features of a League:

  • Regular Season: Players or teams compete in a series of scheduled matches, earning points or improving their standings with each win or draw.

  • Standings: Based on the results of each match, teams or players are ranked on a leaderboard. Points are usually awarded for wins, and sometimes for draws or other achievements.

  • Playoffs/Finals (Optional): Some leagues culminate in a playoff or final round, where the top teams or players compete for the championship.

  • Round-Robin Format: Common in leagues, where each participant plays against all other participants at least once.

  • Promotion/Relegation (Optional): In some leagues, top-performing teams might move up to a higher division, while lower-performing teams might be relegated to a lower division.

Leagues can be found in various sports, esports, and gaming communities, providing a long-term competitive environment that allows participants to consistently improve and compete over time.

Goals for our league!

At All In One Gaming Generation, our league is designed to introduce an exciting new format that goes beyond traditional tournaments. Our goals are to increase competition and foster higher competitive growth within our community. This league offers a fun and engaging way for players to interact and challenge each other, creating a unique environment where everyone can thrive. It also allows us to introduce our own style of prizing and rewards, tailored to our most valuable members. We want to give you something to look forward to when the regular competitive season from publishers ends, ensuring that the fun and excitement continue year-round.

Game Format

In our league, all matches will follow a Best of 1 format with no time limit per game. We will adhere to the current ban and errata list to ensure fairness and balance. Each week, teams are required to play against the team they are matched with. It’s essential that matches are completed within the designated week. If a team fails to show up for their match, they will receive a loss for that week. In cases where both teams fail to play, the week will be marked as a tie for both teams. Teams are also required to use decks that consist solely of the three classes they selected during signup, ensuring consistency and strategy throughout the league.

The championship game will be a best of 3 between each team member.

Prizing and Rewards

Our league offers an exciting prizing structure designed to keep every team motivated and engaged throughout the competition.

  1. Weekly Winners: Each week, teams that win their match will be rewarded with various prizes. These can include packs from the current set, exclusive promo cards, and other valuable TCG accessories. The specific prizing for each week will be revealed at the beginning of that week, adding an element of surprise and anticipation for all participants. Whether it's a sought-after promo or a booster pack, the weekly rewards are curated to enhance your TCG collection and gameplay experience.

  2. Weekly Losers: We believe that participation should always be rewarded, even if your team doesn't come out on top. Teams that lose their weekly match will receive in-store discounts as a token of our appreciation for their continued involvement in the league. These discounts can be applied to various products, helping you gear up for the next round or expand your collection.

  3. Playoffs: After six weeks of intense competition, the league will enter the playoff stage. This will be a single week of high-stakes matches where the top teams face off to determine who will advance to the championship. Depending on the number of teams participating, the playoff stage may extend beyond one week to accommodate all qualifying teams.

  4. Championships: The final week of the league will be dedicated to the championship. Here, the remaining teams will battle it out in a best-of-3 series to claim the title of league champions. This format ensures that the ultimate winner is truly deserving, having proven their skill and strategy over multiple matches.

  5. Championship Prizing: The champions of the league will be handsomely rewarded for their efforts. The winning team will receive packs from the current set and exclusive promo cards that are relevant to the competitive season. These prizes are designed to not only celebrate your victory but also to prepare you for future competitions.

By participating in our league, every team has the opportunity to earn valuable rewards, making each match count towards both personal and collective progress.

September 9th Update

Good Evening everyone,

I wanted to give an update on the League today. So, we were supposed to start this week, and we are going to start this week but not in playing. So, I have posted the infographic for your prizing and the link also so your team can lock in for the next 8 weeks of play and content. So, we currently have 7 projected teams playing and we are going to stop accepting teams at 8 teams, so if you have another duo of friends that can join us please let them know there is only one spot left. But here I will share what the next steps are.

What I need from the teams:

1) Lock into the league: This is just purchasing your ticket so we can seed you in the weekly schedule for your team and the entire league. You can pay in 2 ways, Square using this link: https://square.link/u/6YKN7LzD Or on PayPal @Allinonegaminggeneration@outlook.com. Entry is $40 and Deadline is Wednesday, September 11th.

2) Team Intro: We want spectators and other teams to really get to know each other so we would like to record an intro of each team describing some basic fun facts about you all. Some questions we are looking for are where are you from, how long you have been playing, funny facts about yourself and show us some of your humor and personality and just have fun with it. If you do not want to do a video you can send us in text format answering all those questions and we will take care of it for you.

3) Match Scheduling: Week 1 of the regular season will begin September 16th, and we will need to confirm what times both teams can play for the first 2 weeks of the season. This will ensure that everyone is on the same page knowing where and when you all can get together and play.

4) Videos each week: Each week we plan to get an after-action report and get your team's feedback on how the week went and how you feel going into the next week.

5) Judges Volunteers: We would just need 2 judges who would be willing to answer and assist when people have ruling questions.

6) Have fun and make it what you want it to be: Whether your goal is to have fun or be the best and win it all come in this league with the mentality and persona that you want to share with others when you are playing SVE and just be yourself or role play into another persona the possibilities are endless.

Reminders:

- Each week is a Bo3 match for both players against the opposing team and a team must win 3/4 of the total games played to win the week for your team.

- In case of a Tie where it is 2-2 after the 4 games each team will decide on who will play the final match and the winner of that match will win the week for their team.

- Each player will play at least 1 game against each opposing team’s players each week with any of the three decks classes they picked, and you may switch decks per set so if you happen to pick sword this week and lose your first set you can switch to your abyss deck for the next set and see if that one performs better.

- You can do anything to help your teammate win as long as it does not interfere with the gameplay of the opposing team and is not blatant cheating. For example, if one teammate finishes their match early your team can call you and coach you through the game to help you have the best chance of winning.

- You may change your individual decks but not the class that they are in, so you are not stuck with a list that is not working for the next 8 weeks.

- Shipping will be in 2 waves due to the mass amount of people… It would be over $200 on shipping alone lol. Wave 1 on week 4 and Wave 2 at the end of the league.

- If you have more questions or if you think I missed something let me know in the discord!

Hope you all enjoy it, and I am looking forward to having some fun with all of you in the spirit of competition and camaraderie.
